Segment of West Capitol Avenue in Pierre to be temporarily closed Tuesday

Storm sewer repair work will begin Tuesday (Sept. 9, 2025) morning on West Capitol Avenue in Pierre, following the morning commute.

Starting at 8:30a.m., West Capitol Avenue will be closed from Terri Lane to West Elizabeth Street. Traffic will be detoured to Westwood Drive and West Elizabeth Street. Crews anticipate completing the repair work and reopening the roadway by 5p.m., before the evening rush hour.
