Middle school, JV and varsity cross country teams from around the state converged for the Clyde Cotton Invitational on Saturday, and here is how some of the surrounding schools fared.
Chamberlain’s Grace Phillips took the top spot in the girls varsity 5000m run with a time of 18:48.43. Jayce Babb of Tea Area and Brandon Valley’s Addison Scholten took second and third while Pierre’s Emery Larson took fourth with a time of 19:19.05. Also from Pierre, Gwen Richter and Charlee-Williams Smith took 14th and 15th in the race as well. Below is how each team finished up:

In the boys varsity 5000m, Aberdeen’s Carson Urlacher took the top of the podium with a time of 16:04.46, close behind was Watertown’s Dane Stark just a few seconds behind. Brandon Valley’s Asher Selness and Ethan Kyte took third and fourth with times of 16:16.42 and 16:17.28. Pierre’s Caleb Morris took 13th with a time of 17:03.93. Pierre boys JV performed well in the 5000m event, seeing three runners finish in the top ten with Asher Oxford taking fourth, James Stolley taking sixth and Jett Kirschenmann taking ninth. The team totals for both girls and boys JV are below:

Georgia Morse Middle School girls dominated the 2900m event, taking the top four spots as seen below. Also pictured is the girls team leaderboard:

It was an equally as dominant showing from Georgia Morse Middle School’s boys, with Jacob Weaver taking first in the MS Boy’s 2900m. Below is the individual top-10 and the team leaderboard as well:
