The first lots have been sold and the first homes are in place at the new Prairie Ridge Addition in Pierre.
At a ribbon cutting on Tuesday (Sept. 23, 2025), Pierre Economic Development Corporation COO Jim Protexter said there are minimal restrictions on the lots.
Protexter said there are two goals for these 32 lots.
Pierre Mayor Steve Harding said housing opportunities like these are badly needed.
The new Prairie Ridge Addition is located in southeast Pierre, east of Harrison Avenue between Park Avenue and Sully Avenue, at the location of the former Renee Trailer Court.
