A grand opening for the Gov Grocery building at the Georgia Morse Middle School in Pierre was held earlier this month (Sept. 5, 2025).
School Board member Dennis James says the students enjoyed seeing the newly spruced up building for the student food pantry program.
James says some parents also stopped by Gov Grocery.
James reminds folks where Gov Grocery is located and when it is open.
During the school year, eligible students select breakfasts, lunches, dinners, snacks and drinks from Gov Grocery prior to leaving school on Friday. The supplies are intended to help ensure those students have food to get them through the weekend.
