Two students from South Dakota have been named as 2025 U.S. Presidential Scholars.
Bryn Marietta, a graduate of Rapid City Stevens High School, is currently in the honors program at the University of South Dakota, majoring in Physiology, Cell and Molecular Biology.
Ernest Ting graduated from Brookings High School and is studying Information and Data Sciences at Caltech, where he will also compete in track and field.
Each year, the U.S. Department of Education announces the names of the Scholars to honor high school students for their outstanding academic, artistic and technical accomplishments, as well as their meaningful contributions to their communities. Established by executive order of the President in 1964, this is one of the nation’s highest honors for high school students.
The U.S. Department of Education released the full list of 2025 U.S. Presidential Scholars in September.
