Five high school seniors from South Dakota have been awarded the Richard Hagen-Minerva Harvey Memorial State Scholarship.
Recipients from central South Dakota are Cole Ducheneaux from Timber Lake and August Bartels from Winner.
The Richard Hagen-Minerva Harvey Memorial Scholarship honors enrolled members of federally recognized American Indian tribes who demonstrate strong personal character, cultural involvement, leadership and a clear vision for their future educational and career goals. The program provides financial assistance for up to four years of postsecondary education. Award amounts include a minimum of $1,000 for each of the first two years, $1,500 for the third year, and $2,500 for the fourth year.
The 2025 scholarship recipients are:
- Scarlett Renville (Sisseton);
- Ethan Phelps (Rapid City);
- Kyra Perkins (Rapid City);
- Cole Ducheneaux (Timber Lake); and
- August Bartels (Winner).
