LENNOX, S.D. — Wins have been hard to come by for the Pierre Governor volleyball team this season, but they played perhaps their most complete match of the season to date on Saturday and came home with a four-set victory over the Lennox Orioles, 25-23, 20-25, 25-22, 25-19. In a match that rarely featured long service rallies or large leads, the Governors were able to outlast the Orioles, who entered the contest with a 19-1 record, which had them with the sixth best power point rating in Class A. Unofficially, Pierre registeredĀ a season high 43 kills, led by Alyssa Loe with 12 and Ally Keyes with 10. The Govs also put in their most consistent effort of the season in front row blocking and back row defense in a truly all-around team effort. The wins gives the team a big boost of confidence, which they will need when they play host to top-ranked and three-time defending State Champion Harrisburg Tuesday night at Riggs High Gym.
