“KPop Demon Hunters” has become a cultural phenomenon that no one could’ve predicted. It’s currently the most-watched movie of all time on Netflix with more than 325 million views around the world.
There’s talk of a sequel, but don’t expect to see your favorite characters in live-action. The creator Maggie Kang shot down the idea.
Quote, “There’s so many elements of the tone and the comedy that are so suited for animation. It’s really hard to imagine these characters in a live-action world. It would feel too grounded. So totally it wouldn’t work for me.”
In other “Demon Hunters” news, EJAE, who provides the singing voice for Rumi, says she wrote the song “Golden” with notes that were too high-pitched to sing live.
She wanted to show Rumi’s intense emotions. Quote, “It needed that desperate climb in tone to express her feelings. I didn’t expect I’d end up performing it live myself. Rumi felt the pressure, and so do I.”
EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, the singing voices behind HUNTR/X, just had their FIRST (full) live performance of “Golden” on Jimmy Fallon last week, check it out here!
