The South Dakota Municipal League recently inducted 21 individuals from across the state into their Hall of Fame– and 11 of them have worked for the City of Pierre.
The SDML Hall of Fame honors elected and appointed officials and employees who have served municipalities in South Dakota for 20 or more years.
Municipal League Executive Director Sara Rankin said this year’s inductees represent excellent leaders that have improved their communities and the lives of their neighbors through their service.
Pierre city employees earning the honor were:
- Brandon Boyd, Patrol Sergeant, 22 years
- Chris Classen, Carpenter, 20 years
- Laurie Gronlund, Human Resources Director, 27 years
- Devin Harris, Superintendent, 26 years
- Jason Jones, Chief of Police, 25 years
- Corey Lafave, Maintenance Technician, 20 years
- Cole Martin, Detective Sergeant, 20 years
- Brad Palmer, Utilities Director, 21 years
- Dusty Pelle, Captain, 21 years
- Cory Schwartz, Lead Lineman, 24 years
- Keith Stanek, Golf Mechanic, 22 years
Inductees were recognized earlier this month (Oct. 2, 2025) during organization’s Annual Conference in Pierre.
