Despite the federal government shutdown, South Dakota’s Women, Infants and Children program continues to operate as normal.
The South Dakota WIC program provides families with healthy foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support and connections to community resources that help them thrive.
State Secretary of Health Melissa Magstadt says participants should attend their scheduled appointments as usual. She says the Department of Health remains in close contact with federal partners and participants will be notified promptly if any changes occur.
