Nov. 1, 2025, is the deadline to purchase tickets to win a rifle that’s being raffled off by the America 250th South Dakota Commission.
State Historical Society Director Ben Jones says the handcrafted rifle is being built by Parkwest Arms in Sturgis.
Proceeds from the raffle support statewide educational initiatives in partnership with the America 250th South Dakota Commission, including K–12 programs and events that celebrate the founding of the United States of America and South Dakota’s role in American history.
The rifle is valued at just shy of $9000 ($8,995 which includes $7,995 custom rifle and up to $1,000 in engraving). The winner will receive their custom rifle directly from Parkwest Arms following completion and engraving. Again, the drawing will take place at noon on Sunday, Nov. 2.
Tickets are $100 each and can be purchased on the South Dakota Historical Society Foundation website, https://www.sdhsf.org/events/events.html/event/2025/08/18/raffle-custom-built-parkwest-arms-sd-10-rifle-.
