PIERRE, SD – The intersection of East Pawn Street and South Primrose Lane will be closed today, Friday, October 24th to allow City Utility crews to replace a water valve.
There will be no through-traffic while work is underway. The project is expected to take one full day, weather permitting. .
Water valves are a critical part of the City’s underground utility system. They allow crews to isolate small sections of water main for maintenance or emergency repairs without disrupting service to an entire neighborhood. Replacing aging or malfunctioning valves helps maintain water quality, improve system reliability, and reduce the risk of larger service interruptions in the future.
The City of Pierre appreciates the public’s patience while this maintenance work is completed to ensure the continued reliability of the water system.
