Some Fort Pierre residents or businesses could be on the receiving end of some blowing smoke on Monday (Nov. 10, 2025), but not the kind of smoke you maybe thinking.
Joey Montana with the Fort Pierre Street Department says South Dakota Rural Water will be helping him “smoke test” about five different manholes.
Montana says the smoke they use is non-toxic for humans and animals, but there are some steps people can take to keep it out of their structures.
