South Dakota Football Coaches Association (SDFBCA) Awards
Lance Witte- “Keeper of The Game” Award
This award is to recognize and honor outstanding leadership, contributions, and dedication of service to
the South Dakota Football Coaches Association. Mr. Witte’s vision and commitment to All Nations
football, its coaches, and athletes are revered by the SD Football Coaches Association. We congratulate
Mr. Witte and his family; his dedication and professionalism are to be commended. Please join us in
honoring the SDFBCA “Keeper of the Game”, Mr. Lance Witte, Superintendent of Lower Brule Schools
and Chairman of the All-Nations Football Conference.
Lance L. Witte is the Superintendent of Lower Brule Schools and Chairman of the All-Nations Football
Conference (ANFC). A graduate of Faulkton High School, he earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees
from Northern State University. He later completed an Education Specialist degree and an MBA from the
University of Sioux Falls.
Lance began his education career overseas, serving in administrative roles at international schools in
Bolivia, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, and China. He returned to South Dakota in 2008 to lead Wessington
Springs Schools and has served as Superintendent of Lower Brule Schools for the past twelve years.
Under his leadership, Lower Brule Schools has grown in enrollment, strengthened academics, and
achieved athletic milestones, including multiple appearances in the state basketball tournament and
three consecutive ANFC football championships (2022–2024). He also guided the creation of the All-
Nations Football Conference, which now includes sixteen schools across South Dakota and Nebraska.
Lance and his wife, Janeen, reside in Chamberlain and have five adult children: Owen, Brett, John,
Chynna, and Caroline.
SDFBCA Head Coach of the Year: Dusty Welsh-Winnebago
Dusty Welsh has helped guide the Winnebago Indians to five All Nations Championship Games (three as
an assistant, two as Head Coach). He has coached for 10 years with Winnebago, serving as Head Coach
for the past 2 years after 8 years as an assistant. He attributes all the success (a 47-8 record in the All-
Nations League) to the players, their families' support, and his fellow coaches. Off the field, along with his wife Micaela, he is the proud dad of Jaden, Jacobi, and Jyson.
Assistant Coach of the Year: Mackenzie Casey- Little Wound
Born in Pine Ridge, SD. Member of the Oglala Lakota Tribe. He graduated from SDSU in 2010 with a
degree in Physical Education. Head Coach at Little Wound High School from 2018 to 2019. Assistant
Coached Rapid City Central football and basketball from 2020-2023. Assistant Coached at Lakota Tech
HS from 2023-2024. Presently assistant coach at Little Wound HS football and head boys basketball coach.
