The Capital Area United Way has surpased its $590,000 goal for the 2025-26 fundraising campaign.
Information from the organization (Feb. 2, 2026) says they’ve raised $596,238.55, with some dollars still coming in.
Capital Area United Way’s network of partner agencies and community impact programs provide initiatives focused on things such as early childhood education, financial stability and access to essential resources.

The Capital Area United Way has now raised approximately 94% of its $590,000 goal for the 2025-26 fundraising campaign.
Executive Director Becky Spoehr says there’s still time to get entered into their first-ever Great Grocery Giveaway.
Board President Amanda Dodson says community support is what enables Capital Area United Way to financially assist their partner agencies and community impact programs.
The Great Grocery Giveaway winner will be selected January 16, 2026, at noon.

To help get across the finish line, Executive Director Becky Spoehr says they’re doing their first-ever Great Grocery Giveaway.
If you’d like to donate, Spoehr says there are a few different options.
Spoehr says big or small, every donation amount makes a positive impact in the Pierre and Fort Pierre communities.
The Great Grocery Giveaway winner will be selected January 16, 2026, at noon.

Great Grocery Giveaway details:
From Dec. 29-Jan. 16, 2026, at 11:59 AM, a $26 donation gets the donor one entry or a $100 donation gets the donor four entries toward winning the $2,026 in gift cards to Lynn’s Dakotamart in Pierre.
Nov. 12, 2025:
The Capital Area United Way 2025–26 fundraising effort is almost half way (45%) to reaching its goal.
Information sent out by the organization says every donation—no matter the size— helps keep critical programs available for people who rely on them. The moments of impact often happen quietly— but their ripple effects reach across the Pierre, Fort Pierre, Hughes County and Stanley County area.
Through CAUW’s network of partner agencies and community programs, all donations help feed families, provide safe shelter, mentor children, offer resources and ensure everyone has access to the help they need when they need it most.

The Capital Area United Way’s annual fundraising campaign kickoff held a week ago (Sept. 14, 2025) raised nearly $11,000 ($10,984.50).
The event included a meal, raffle drawings and watching former Pierre Governor football star Grey Zabel and his Seattle Seahawks beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-17.
This year’s theme is “United Is The Way” and they have a fundraising goal of $590,000. She says the organization helps fund 14 partner agencies that provide 34 programs and services for people in Pierre, Fort Pierre, Stanley County and Hughes County.

The Capital Area United Way kicked off its annual fundraising campaign Sunday (Sept. 14, 2025) with a meal, raffle drawings and watching former Pierre Governor football star Grey Zabel and his Seattle Seahawks beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-17.
Zabel, who is playing his first season in the NFL, also appeared in this year’s CAWU campaign video.

The Capital Area United Way is holding the kickoff to its annual fundraising campaign Sunday (Sept. 14, 2025) at the Larkspur Landing Event Center in Pierre.
Executive Director Becky Spoehr says there will be fun, food and football starting at 11am.
Board President Amanda Dodson says they hope to raise at least $590,000 during this 2025-26 fundraising campaign.
For those who aren’t aware, former Pierre Governor football star Grey Zabel was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks and is playing his first season in the NFL this year.
Spoehr says Sunday’s gathering is a family friendly event.
Spoehr says CAUW helps fund 14 partner agencies that provide 34 programs and services for people in Pierre, Fort Pierre, Stanley County and Hughes County.
