Emery Larson earned the title as one of Pierre’s more talented athletes through her many years of distance running paired with dominance on the hard wood for the Govs basketball team. Larson commanded the charts in cross country, but also was a key offensive player on the basketball court who had a deadly three-point shot. She thrived under pressure, pushing herself to always try and achieve a little bit more.
In her junior season playing basketball, she helped lead her team to the state tournament after an incredibly successful season outside the arc. Her talent also shined through in her endeavors running track & field, the sport she will be participating in at South Dakota State.
Larson was surrounded by teammates, family, coaches and friends Wednesday afternoon as she thanked all of those who helped get her to this point in her career. Larson made special mention to Coach Royer for providing the flag seen in the title photo. She also thanked her coaches from years past at Chester, but also, one of her closes coaches, her mother Misty. Emery put pen to paper as seen below, and was applauded as she signed her LOI to bring her talents to Brookings.
