Jasmine Jost was never the biggest player on the pitch during her high school career with the Pierre Governors, and she won’t be at the collegiate level when she begins her career with Northern State. But what Jost lacks in size, she more than makes up for with heart. Jost is the type of player you are thrilled to have on your team, and dread to play as an opponent. Never a dirty player, but the scrappy player every roster wishes they had. Jost didn’t lead the statistic category in goals, assists or SOG. She did, however, lead her team in fouls. Nothing she did was ever malicious, but she plays the game the way it is supposed to be played, with grit. So much so, she started getting referred to as “Tasmine Jost” in relation to the Tasmanian Devil. Jost plays in a whirlwind, as noted by her youth coach, and she plays with her hair on fire.
In a standing-room only Riggs Library, family, teammates and classmates all gathered to see her put ink to paper solidifying her continued soccer career at the next level. Her high school coaches Kira Swenson and Katie Berg reminded us that Jost was not only awarded two ESD honors, but was also rewarded the Heart of a Champion award among other meaningful awards. Swenson and Berg also noted how Jost’s hustle and determination rubbed off on her teammates in a very unique way.

Jost’s friends and teammates gather for her signing
The Governors leaned on Jost in their charge to the State Semi-Finals this season where they took Harrisburg to the brink of elimination. Jost playing at 70% with an injury never let it effect her or her team’s efforts. When asked about how she was feeling on gameday just a few days after her injury, she softly replied, “I feel 70%, but I am going to play at 100%.” A sentiment only Jost herself could construct.

Jost making it official to continue her playing career
Jost will begin her collegiate career this upcoming season with the Wolves, and she was promised a full-team visit from her coaches and teammates to see her in action once she gets there.
