Central South Dakota announced the Big Dakota Conference Teams earlier this week, and Stanley County saw two members of the Lady Buffaloes earn their way in. Senior captain, and dominant middle-hitter Breckyn Huebner was announced as a “starter” on the team, which was earned through her outstanding play at the net. In her career, Huebner earned over 500 kills and was a cornerstone of head coach TJ Drageset’s rotation. Drageset had this to say about Huebner, “Breckyn earned Big Dakota All-Conference honors this season, and it’s a recognition she truly deserves. As a hitter, she brought consistency, power, and determination to every match. Her ability to put balls down in big moments, combined with her work ethic and competitive drive, made her a key offensive force for our team. Breckyn’s impact was felt on and off the court, and this honor reflects the strong season she put together.”
Timber Hanson, who was just a sophomore, was the Lady Buffaloes libero and was key along the back line for her team. Hanson had a knack for being in the right place at the right time, and if she wasn’t, she showed off innate speed to get anywhere on the floor. One of Drageset’s keys throughout the season was communication, and Hanson delivered that as one of the more outspoken Buffaloes on the court. Hanson made the All-Conference Honorable Mention list. Drageset add this about her libero, “Timber was awarded Big Dakota Honorable Mention as a libero, and her growth and grit were evident all season long. She anchored our defense with her quick reads, reliable passing, and fearless effort in the back row. Timber stepped into a demanding role and embraced it fully, becoming a steady presence for her teammates. This recognition highlights the strides she has made and the value she brought to our team.”
Chamberlain also had two players earn the honors of the All-Conference Team with Jovie VanDenBosch and Maisey Petersen making the list. The two led Chamberlain through a very successful regular season and in to the semi-finals before losing to a very talented Miller Rustler squad.
