The South Dakota State Fair will host the 66th Annual Family Campers and RVers (FCRV) Campvention, taking place July 5-11, 2026, at the South Dakota State Fairgrounds.
This national event will bring together FCRV members from across the U.S. and Canada, with the Heartland Region welcoming campers from coast to coast. The week-long event will offer a wide range of activities, including outdoor adventures, family-friendly games and crafts, evening entertainment, local tours, conservation education, and hands-on workshops for all ages.
“We’re excited to bring Campvention to Huron,” said Jan Selby, an FCRV representative. “The Fairgrounds offer incredible amenities, and the staff has been nothing but supportive. This location gives us the perfect opportunity to blend our mission with the hospitality, culture, and natural beauty that Huron and the surrounding area are known for.”
“The State Fair is honored to welcome FCRV to Huron for the first time,” said Peggy Besch, South Dakota State Fair Manager. “Our facilities are well-suited for an event of this size, and we look forward to showcasing what the Fairgrounds and our community have to offer. It is a wonderful opportunity to welcome guests from across North America to experience South Dakota.”
Founded in 1949, FCRV is a volunteer-run, non-profit international camping club with members across the United States and Canada. FCRV offers a wide range of programs including conservation efforts, youth and teen activities, retiree programs, disaster awareness training, and scholarship opportunities for members and their families.
