The Walworth County Commission held a regular meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 10th.
Highway Department
- Representatives of Game, Fish, and Parks visited with the commissioners about having resources to partner with the county for the maintenance of connector roads such as the Swan Creek Road and Indian Creek Road.
- Walworth County Highway Superintendent Tom Hannan had an update on the Bridge Improvement Projects.
- The commissioners approved Hannan’s 2-year contract renewal as Highway Superintendent. Commissioner Scott Schilling voted no.
- The commissioners approved the Hoven motor grader warranty renewal for 24 months for 1,000 hours at $8900.00.
- Hannan also said he is working with the City of Mobridge on a memorandum of understanding for assistance with snow removal.
Landfill
Commissioner Duane Mohr gave the Landfill report.

Cody Conlon from Game, Fish, and Parks talked to the commissioners about some turning some county lease land into a walk-in area.
Conlon will return in January with more information for discussion.

Walworth County Sheriff Josh Boll and Register of Deeds Brenda DeToy presented their monthly reports. DeToy told the commissioners she is working with Mobridge Regional Hospital to set up a secure email for transmitting jail medical claims in a more timely manner.

Supplemental budget requests were all approved, as were contingency transfers from the general fund.
Auditor
County Auditor Kim Dills received a message from the Department of Revenue regarding a liquor license for the Campground Lounge in Mobridge, and inquiring of the location of the business.
Dills also explained the October end of month report.
