A 35 year old man from Herrick, SD, died in a single vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon (Dec. 10, 2025, at 12:22pm) seven miles north of Herrick in Gregory County.
The name of the person involved has not been released pending notification of family members.
Preliminary crash information from the South Dakota Highway Patrol indicates the driver of a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound on 350th Avenue near 290th Street and left the roadway, entering the east ditch. The vehicle struck a fallen tree and rolled, coming to rest in a dry creek bed. The driver died at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
