South Dakota Governor Larry Rhoden announced support this week (Dec. 10, 2025) for Aberdeen’s two new business parks with a $1 million award from the Future Fund.
“South Dakota is Open for Opportunity, and these business parks will help ensure that Aberdeen’s economy continues to grow and remain competitive,” said Governor Larry Rhoden. “By creating more space for businesses to expand or move to our state, Aberdeen will be prepared for the next wave of opportunity.”
Currently, Aberdeen only has one vacant development property available, warranting the need for two new business parks. Local leaders and private investors have already raised $7 million for the development of those business parks, and this $1 million investment will get the projects across the finish line.
“This investment is bold enough to seize opportunity, but it is also wise enough to prepare for the future in a responsible, sustainable way,” continued Governor Rhoden. “I have no doubt that it will propel South Dakota towards an even brighter future.”
Governor Rhoden made this announcement at Northern State University on the same day as the grand opening of the university’s new Lincoln Business School building.
