Weisgram bill on tax increment financing districts tabled; Topic will be handled in the Senate

The South Dakota House Taxation Committee tabled a bill this week (Feb. 17) dealing with provisions related to tax increment financing districts or TIFs.

House Bill 1319 sponsor Rep. Mike Weisgram of Fort Pierre told the committee the proposal would be handled through a Senate amendment to a broader bill.

The House Taxation Committee meets again on Thursday (Feb 19) to hear additional property tax measures ahead of next week’s crossover deadline.

Weisgram and Rep. Will Mortenson of Fort Pierre are both members of the House Taxation Committee.
