The Raiders are headed to Brookings as the one-seed in the Class B State Tournament. Lyman won comfortably Thursday night in Fort Pierre after handing the McIntosh Tigers a 53-22 loss, led by Jordyn Scott’s 26 points.
The game was in striking distance after quarter one for the Tigers after a Mikki Maher logo-three would swing the momentum slightly back their direction. However, Lymans defense staved off any attempt at a McIntosh comeback holding the Tigers to just two points in the second quarter taking a 33-10 lead into the half.
Lyman would continue their suffocating half-court defense in the second half stretching their lead out to running clock territory, rolling to the sizeable victory. The Raiders celebrated and cut down the nets as they locked in their spot as the one-seed ahead of next weeks State Tournament.
The Raiders will face off with Corsica-Stickney, who pulled off a 38-32 upset of Waubay-Summit. The two will kick off the tournament at First Bank & Trust Arena in Brookings next Thursday at 11:00 AM CT on KPLO, the game will also be streaming live on DRGnews.com/KPLO.
