Brett David Oliver has been identified as the 53 year old man from Gregory who died Saturday (March 7, 2026) in a single-vehicle crash (on 339th Avenue) three miles south of Gregory.
Preliminary crash information from the South Dakota Highway Patrol indicates Oliver was driving a 2016 Honda UTV traveling southbound on 339th Avenue near 292nd Street when the vehicle left the roadway, entered a steep embankment and rolled into a creek.
The updated Highway Patrol report says Oliver was transported to a nearby hospital where he died from injuries sustained in the crash. The actual time of the crash is under investigation.
The Highway Patrol is an agency of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.

The name of the person involved has not been released pending notification of family members.

The actual time of the crash is under investigation. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt.
