An 18 year old male from Pierre was seriously injured Monday evening (March 9, 2026) in a single-vehicle crash four miles north of Pierre.
The name of the person involved has not been released.
Preliminary crash information from the South Dakota Highway Patrol indicates the teenager was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound on SD Highway 1804 near mile marker 254 when the vehicle left the road and vaulted over Grey Goose Road. The vehicle rolled and came to rest on its passenger side.
The driver was transported to the hospital in Pierre with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. He was wearing a seat belt. Charges for careless driving are pending.
The Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
