The South Dakota Department of Transportation will host a public meeting this evening (March 26, 2026) in Kadoka to share information about the $25.5 million S.D. Highway 73 reconstruction project.
Miscellaneous work on the multi-year project, including erosion control and topsoil removal, began last week (March 16). Weather permitting, full construction work is expected to resume next week (March 30) with removal of the in-place asphalt surfacing.
The informational meeting begins at 5:30pm MT at the City Auditorium Annex in Kadoka (820 Chestnut Street). This meeting will provide information and answer questions for the public about the grading project on Highway 73.
This is a multi-year project due to the size and scope of the reconstruction work. The grading project completion date is Friday, June 19, 2026. A paving project is scheduled to begin once the grading project is complete.
