At the Wednesday, April 1st, meeting of the Walworth County Commission, the commissioners heard an update from the Jail Committee. Pam Wells is a member of the committee, and read the report’s recommendations.
Dean Marske of HKG Architects was also at the meeting to talk about the design and construction of the jail, and working to bring the cost down.
Commissioner Scott Schilling would like to see the jail committee continue.
Commissioner Jim Houck talked about the numbers.
Commissioner Duane Mohr sees money being saved by using more day rooms.
Commissioner Justin Jungwirth would like to see a smaller mix of holding cells and day rooms.
Commission Chairman Randy Carlson wants the discussion to continue.
Marske said the plan is to email the construction contracts to Walworth States Attorney Sarah Malsom so she can review them and the commissioners can look them over before the next commission meeting on Wednesday, April 15th.
