As the June 2 election approaches, the City of Pierre would like to remind residents of local regulations regarding the placement and removal of political signs.
For the June election, political signs can be displayed starting April 7, and all signs must be removed within seven (7) days following the election date.
In accordance with City of Pierre ordinance, the following guidelines apply:
- Signs must be placed on private property only
- Signs are not permitted within the public right-of-way
- Signs must not obstruct visibility for drivers or pedestrians
These regulations are in place to help maintain public safety, ensure clear visibility along roadways and intersections, and preserve the appearance of the community.
Residents are encouraged to ensure all signage is placed and removed in compliance with these requirements.
For questions regarding sign placement or regulations, please contact the City of Pierre.
