While the Lady Jacks season came to a somewhat disappointing end in the first round of the NCAAW tournament at the hands of the Washington Huskies, it did not come without some hardware. Disappointing in the regard that many Jacks fans believed they may be able to pull off the upset agaisnt Washington as an 11-seed, but rewarding in the fact that they continue to climb higher in the bracket each year.
The hardware came as SDSU’s Brooklyn Meyer earned the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year award.
Meyer led the Jacks to their fourth straight Summit League Championship title with a 64-51 win over NDSU. In the win, Meyer was also named the MVP of the Championship.
Meyer was an All-Summit League first team member while also making the All-Summit League defesnive team.
Outside of the Summit League, Meyere was in the top 10 among D1 players in scoring. Meyer averaged 22.6 PPG while shooting an impressive 64.6% from the field, both the highest of her SDSU career.
