Absentee voting begins next week for South Dakota’s June 2, 2026, Primary Election.
The deadline for county and state candidates to turn in their nominating petitions to the Secretary of State’s Office was the end of last month (March 31, 2026), so Hughes County Finance Officer Thomas Oliva says county auditors across the state are working quickly to prepare all of the ballot options they need.
April 17, 2026, is the date South Dakotans can begin absentee voting for the June Primary Election.
