A small tractor fire around 1:45pm yesterday (March 29, 2022) on Central Avenue in Pierre (near Dakotamart and WW Tire) was quickly extinguished.
Fire Chief Ian Paul says there was a small fire in the engine compartment of the tractor.
With extremely dry conditions persisting across the state, Paul encourages people to have a working fire extinguisher in your vehicles and farm equipment.
