A 29 year old Marshall, Minnesota, man convicted of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender has been sentenced by a federal judge in South Dakota.
Brody Lee Chase Hancock is spending 10 months in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release, and paying a special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund in the amount of $100.
The conviction stems from Hancock failing to register as a sex offender as required by federal law between December 1, 2020, and July 7, 2021. Hancock had previously been convicted of a sex offense in the state of Minnesota, which requires him to register for 15 years upon his release from prison.
This case was investigated by the U.S. Marshals Service.
