With Dolly Parton it’s not just what she says, but how she says it. Every word is 100% Dolly, and 200% interesting . . . whether you agree with her or not.
There’s a great “Dollyism” in her new interview with “National Geographic”, which we’ll get to in a second. The interview was mostly about her love of Eastern Tennessee, where she grew up and where Dollywood is located. She said quote, “The Smokies always call me home. [We’ve] got the most radiant flowers, the biggest assortment of trees. The Smokies have a heart of their own. It’s the way the water flows, the way it sounds, and the way it feels when you get in it.
“I don’t know if it’s just because it’s my home . . . but I really don’t think so. I think it’s just one of those special places that God put here for us to enjoy.” Dolly would like those special places to STAY that way, and that’s when this rolled off her tongue . . .
Quote, “We should pay more attention. We’re mistreating Mother Nature . . . that’s like being ugly to your mama. We need to take better care of the things that God gave us freely. And that we’re so freely messing up.”
