UPDATE APRIL 18, 2022:
Searchers in Hanson County have found the body of a 60 year old woman from Sioux Falls missing since approximately April 5, 2022.
A South Dakota Endangered Missing Advisory for Kay Flittie said she left Sioux Falls April 5th to drive to Arkansas to visit a relative. A family member received a call from Flittie around 2pm that day that originated in a rural area of Hanson County. Around that same time, the Hanson County Sheriff’s Office received calls of a woman who was walking on the shoulder of the road and appeared confused. Searchers responded to the area and recovered Flittie’s car, but did not find her.
A massive search on Saturday (April 16, 2022) included family members, numerous organizations and over 100 volunteers. Flittie’s body was recovered approximately four miles east of where she was last seen. Her death is being investigated.

APRIL 12, 2022:
An Endangered Missing Advisory has been issued for a 60 year old female from Sioux Falls last seen April 5, 2022.
Advisory information says Kay Flittie is white, 5’7”, 200 pounds, has hazel colored eyes and light brown/blonde hair. She was last seen walking along the shoulder of a road in Hanson County. Law enforcement searched the area and found Flittie’s vehicle, but haven’t located her.
Flittie left Sioux Falls to go visit a relative in Arkansas.
