The South Dakota Department of Transportation has issued a restriction of no overweight loads on a section of highway west of Winner, effective immediately (June 17).
SDDOT has placed the no overweight loads limitation on Highway 183 from the Highway 18/183 junction west of Winner, north 21.5 miles to the White River city limits (or 14 miles south of Interstate 90).
From June 23 through at least Aug. 31, the load limit will be further reduced to a maximum 7 tons per axle on Highway 183 through the same 21.5 mile construction area.
All trucks are advised to take alternate route until further notice. The highway has heavy section surface breakup and gravel surfacing from the reconstruction operations.
