Ahead of this year’s 4th of July activities, Fort Pierre is looking to spruce up the metal buffalo put up around town during the Bicentennial Celebration in 2017.
The Fort Pierre Development Corporation’s Downtown Committee is holding a Paint the Buffalo Contest. There are two categories, student and adult.
Contest rules:
- Permission must be obtained from the business or location where the buffalo you want to repaint is located. Choose from any of the locations around town.
- Contact Sunny at the Fort Pierre Development Corporation to enter the contest and to let her know which buffalo will be your painting project.
- The buffalo must first be painted with black enamel rustolium before being painted decoratively.
- No political messages or negative themes.
- Contest deadline is July 1.
