Oahe Project resumes Powerhouse tours

The Oahe Dam Project at Pierre/Fort Pierre is once again offering tours of the Oahe Powerhouse.

Public walk-in tours will be available Wednesdays through Saturdays at 1pm CT, from now through Sept. 5, 2022. Tours will start at the Oahe Visitor Center on top of the east end of the dam, along Highway 1804.

Participants should arrive at the visitor center 10 minutes before to sign in. The tours last 1 to 1.5 hours and include a walk through the powerhouse.

Please note:

• ID will be required for all adults on the tours.

• The powerplant is a secure facility and no cell phones, cameras or weapons (including pocket-knives and multitools) will be allowed inside the powerhouse.
