JULY 12, 2022:
The Department of Labor and Regulation’s SDWORKS jobs database and virtual labor market information system are back online following a nationwide disruption in service from the site’s vendor Geographic Solutions, Inc.
The outage at GSI started June 26, 2022, with service restored to South Dakota systems yesterday (July 11). GSI has indicated this attack affected only access to GSI online systems.
Labor and Regulation Secretary Marcia Hultman says the SDWORKS website is a valuable resource for job seekers and employers. She says there are thousands of jobs posted and Job Service office staff are available to assist job seekers with a wide variety of services and programs.
Hultman says employers can also resume using SDWORKS as a recruiting tool to post jobs and screen applicants. She says Job Service employees are also available to assist employers with setting up an account on the website or with posting job vacancies.
The virtual labor market data system for finding workforce data ranging from occupational wages to unemployment rates is also back online. Call the Labor Market Information Center at 605-626-2314 for assistance.
The department’s website dlr.sd.gov and the reemployment assistance program site were not impacted by the outage.
JUNE 29, 2022:
The Department of Labor and Regulation’s SDWORKS jobs database, along with the virtual labor market information (LMI) system, has been out-of-service since Sunday (June 26, 2022) due to outages the external vendor is experiencing.
This outage does not affect the reemployment assistance program. Claimants may continue to file claims, request weekly payments and receive weekly benefits if eligible.
Job seekers are encouraged to contact their local Job Service offices for assistance or visit third-party job sites for employment opportunities until the site is restored. Those needing LMI may call the Labor Market Information Center at 605-626-2314 with requests.
Status updates for the SDWORKS and virtual LMI systems will be posted on sdjobs.org and on @SouthDakotaDLR social media accounts.
