Gone are the days of elbow macaroni covered in a lumpy cheese sauce or mac and cheese made from a blue box. Many restaurants have upped their mac and cheese game and taken it off the kid’s menu.

There is the classic ooey-gooey cheesy macaroni topped with a bread crumb or Ritz cracker topping — which is always a favorite. Then there is the decadent mac and cheeses with all the same goodness elevated to please any palate. You can get your mac attack with lobster, truffles, chourico, or a host of other mouthwatering proteins.
