Why is Dijon mustard to expensive?

Dijon mustard has a slightly spicy, tangy flavor. But did you know you’re probably not eating true Dijon mustard? True Dijon is made with black mustard seeds from France. The Dijon most people purchase is not made with seeds from this region, and that’s why the brands in your local store are cheaper. Jars made with local French ingredients are sold as Burgundy mustard, and cost considerably more. Burgundy mustard is also ground with stone mills, not steel.
