PIERRE – With three golfers shooting under par, Pierre Governor Boys Golf breezed to a record-setting six-shot win Tuesday in the Pierre Invitational at Hillsview Golf Course.
At six-under 282, the Governors won by six shots over Watertown and broke the school record by 12 strokes. Mitchell was third with 306.
Luke Olson and Sawyer Sonnenschein each shot three-under 69 to tie for second individually. Olson had six birdies and Sonnenschein scored three.
Nick Bothun was fourth with a two-under 70 that included six birdies.
Lincoln Houska tied for eighth with a two-over 74 and two birdies.
Jack Bartlett had two birdies in a 75. Charlie Simpson shot 88.
For the Pierre JV, Carter Gordon and Ridge Leimbach each shot 84, Brenden Moennig had an 88, Andrew Anderson fired a 101 and Ethan Martinmaas and Kelan Harris each shot 105.
The individual honor went to Jake Olson of Watertown, who shot a six-under 66 and had 10 birdies.
