ABERDEEN – Working their way through three tough sets, the Pierre Governors remained unbeaten in volleyball Saturday with a 25-18, 25-22, 28-26 win at Aberdeen Central.
Pierre came back from a four-point deficit in the first set to win and trailed 15-8 in the second set before rallying for 10 straight points.
The Governors (5-0) were down by two points twice in the third set, then led 26-25 before Aberdeen Central fought off a match point to tie. Pierre then scored the last two points on a Golden Eagle service error and a scoring block by Reese Terwilliger to end the match.
Lily Sanchez and Ayvrie Kaiser had 10 kills and two aces each to lead Pierre. Campbell Boddicker had eight kills. Terwilliger had six kills and five blocks.
