The Walworth County Commission met Monday morning (November 14th) to canvass the votes from the November 8th election. Walworth County Auditor Deb Kahl said a public thank you to all the poll workers, but told the commissioners it had been difficult finding workers for this election.
Commissioner Scott Schilling placed some of the blame on younger generations.
Auditor Kahl mentioned a possible solution of getting high school students interested in the election process.
Kahl said Hoven has been a particular problem for getting workers this year.
The Walworth County Commission will have a special meeting Tuesday (November 15th) regarding a bid for waste tire disposal at the landfill. The Commission’s next regular meeting will be Tuesday, November 22nd.
