The Walworth County Commission met Tuesday, November 22nd, for a regular meeting.
A public hearing was held for the Sheriff’s Department $108,000 Budget Supplement. Commissioner Kevin Holgard questioned approving a budget with “unlimited hours”. Holgard mentioned what other sheriff’s offices are doing, and Walworth County Sheriff Josh Boll said that comparisons cannot be made with what he has deal with to keep his department operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year long, without a jail facility to function in. The budget supplement was approved on a 3 to 2 vote.
Highway Superintendent Gary Byre reminded the commissioners and county residents of the upcoming public meeting of the Master Transportation Plan at the Selby School gymnasium on Tuesday, November 29th, at 5:30pm. He recommended the entire commission board be available to attend the meeting to hear and comment on the presentation of a modified county highway system.
Also at the meeting several abatements, partial lien satisfactions, and deeds for properties sold this month were approved by the commission.
