There’s a guitar solo from the Pink Floyd album “Animals” that you may not have heard . . . because it was only released on 8-Track back in the day. On other formats, the album starts with “Pigs on the Wing Part 1”, and ends with “Pigs on the Wing Part 2”. But 8-Tracks played differently from records and cassette tapes . . . and obviously, CDs didn’t exist in the 1970s.
So in order to make the album flow better, they combined the two parts, and linked them with a solo, which basically made them a single track. But only on 8-Track.
When it went out of print, it stayed lost . . . until the Internet came along.
