School systems across South Dakota have been awarded over $260,000 in School Nutrition Program equipment grants to renovate/replace existing equipment or buy new equipment.
Cheriee Watterson is the state Department of Education Director of Child and Adult Nutrition Services. She says the equipment purchased will help the schools keep their programs top-notch by supporting their ability to do more cooking from scratch, use more fresh produce and expand participation in lunch and breakfast programs. She says food service professionals all over South Dakota work hard to provide students with healthy and delicious meals.
