Former Sturgis athletic director and former Central South Dakota teacher Todd Palmer had his teaching certificate permanently revoked in December after he created a Twitter account with sexually explicit images.
A document released in early February by the South Dakota Department of Education confirmed the action against Palmer, and the story was originally reported by the Rapid City Journal.
Palmer, who in the past taught in Pierre, Fort Pierre and Chamberlain, had a complaint served against him on July 27 of last year and had a hearing with the DOE scheduled for October 26. Instead, Palmer messaged the DOE on October 20 that he had no intention of contesting the department’s revocation of his certificate.
Palmer resigned as the Sturgis AD in December 2021. When his resignation was made public, it was reported that it was for personal reasons.
