NEW YORK (AP) — The annual presidential interview during the Super Bowl pregame show apparently won’t be happening this year. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Friday (Feb. 10, 2023) that President Joe Biden had been “looking forward” to an interview with the little-known streaming service Fox Soul, but that the Fox Corp. opted out. There was no immediate response from Fox. Traditionally, personalities from the network broadcasting the Super Bowl conduct the presidential interviews, and Biden spoke to CBS’ Norah O’Donnell in 2021 and NBC’s Lester Holt last year. It wasn’t clear how Fox Soul entered the picture, but many Fox News opinion personalities consistently criticize Biden on the air.
