Douglas Williams, 64, of Gettysburg, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD.
Burial will take place at a later date at the Gettysburg Cemetery, Gettysburg, SD.
Douglas was born on April 3, 1958, to Richard and Virginia (Baker) Williams in Susquehanna, PA. He served five years in the Army. Douglas married Margaret (Buell) on March 20, 1998, before relocating to Gettysburg.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing, NASCAR, and western movies. Douglas did enjoy traveling but most enjoyed spending time at home.
Douglas is survived by his daughter, Holly Williams, Decaturville, TN; his step-children: Peter Brenchley, Binghamton, NY, Ian Brenchley, Binghamton, NY, Ai Brenchley, Gettysburg, JoAnne Jessen, Vermont, and Amanda Wyles, St. Petersburg, FL; his mother, Virginia Early, Binghamton, NY; his siblings: Christine Quiman, Vandling, PA, Rick (Andrea) Williams, Waverly, NY, and Steve Williams, Endicott, NY; his sisters-in-law: Catnip (Eddie) Nowak, Gillett, WI, Joyce Buell (Marie Cherrone), Milwaukee, WI, Lisa (Wayne) Nichols, New Milford, PA, Susan (Joseph) Stefano, Gettysburg, and Anna Buell, Robinson, TX; grandson, Ian “IJ” Brenchley; and 9 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; his father, Richard Williams; and his step-father, Butch Early.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Doug’s arrangements.
